MAGE DISCUSSION with the THEME: Smart Phone/Cell Phone/Mobile photography

In January we’ll have two Image Discussion evenings where members from ALL photography levels from Beginner to Advanced submit photos for discussion. Check under RESOURCES for upcoming Monthly Themes.

This meeting the theme is Smart Phone/Cell Phone/Mobile photography

• More than more cell phone photography is gaining recognition and acceptance in the world of professional photography.  Although these cameras have their limitations, they also have numerous benefits that are impossible or difficult to get with DSLRs and other larger format cameras.  Bring in your favourite cell phone photographs.  They can be shot with the native camera, or many of the camera apps available (like Slow Shutter, Cortex, Average Camera Pro, Fisheye Lens, etc.) as well as using the physical, add-on lenses, filters, etc.  They can also be edited in any way in either computer programs like Lightroom and Photoshop,  or in any of the plethora of in-phone apps like Prisma, Snapseed, Filterstorm, Roll World, Reflect, etc.).  Show us your most creative work.

You can also submit any photo in the Open Theme (your choice of subject/theme).  Discussion offers different interpretations, suggestions for improvement or enhancement as well as what judges look for in competitions.

Halfway through the meeting, we break for coffee and treats.

Please bring your photos on a memory stick so that Radek can upload them onto the club computer before the meeting starts.
