1. Broughton Archipelago Marine Wildlife and Seascapes
Sept 16 – 19, 2017 – From $2400 CAD – 4 days
From the moment we arrived at our pick up point in Telegraph Cove the world felt a million miles away. The boat trip to our camp, located on a small island on the edge of Blackney Pass, was exhilarating. Accommodations are in spacious safari tents with real beds and cozy duvets and wool blankets. Lying in bed at night we could hear the blow of the whales and the seals splashing in the little bay just outside our tent. We had so much fun putting this photo trip together and we are looking so forward to sharing this little piece of paradise with you.
2. Yukon Northern Lights and Landscapes
Sept 24 – 28, 2017 – From $2450 CAD – 5 days
The Yukon in the Fall is magnificent. The vibrant colours of the foliage are only overshadowed by the size and vastness of the mountains, rivers and valleys. The Yukon is a land of contrasts. From the incredible stark beauty of the Tundra to the awe inspiring Northern Lights, it is a jewel in the natural world. This photo trip will inspire and excite you as a photographer and a nature lover. Join us on a truly spectacular journey into a true wilderness.
1. Gabriola Island Creative Meditative Photography Retreat
Oct 27 – 29, 2017 – From $1220 CAD – 3 days
Are you perhaps wondering what a meditative photography retreat is all about? Simply put, meditation is the ”act of giving your attention to only one thing” and we’ve found the perfect spot on Gabriola Island to do just that. With nothing to distract us, we’re going to spend three days developing our senses in the art of photography. Through innovative techniques, we’re going to lift you out of your photography rut. You’ll be challenged to see familiar subjects with fresh eyes and discover how to use your photography as a form of artful expression.
Our photo theme this Monday is Cemetaries, so we ask you to travel back to some of your old haunts, be it a nice quiet neighborhood or more of a ghost town, to collect your best images of these “cities of the dead”. After Monday we can allow this theme to Rest In Peace.
See you there.
Fall is in the air and Carol has kindly arranged for our October 16th Field Trip to take us to the Hazelmere Pumpkin patch. The trip begins at 10am and concludes at 2pm.
It is a family event but there are lots of photo ops here. Maybe a occasion to practice some street/ field photography?
They have, in the past, also sold Honey and Jams.
Admission is $5 cash only at the entrance.
Parking available on the street.
Join us on our return trip to Barnson Island on July 25th at 7pm. Meet up will be the parking lot at the ferry terminal.
Reminder * You may appreciate some bug spray 🙂
Natalie has lined up for us an entertaining evening at the Tynehead Regional Park. We will be participating in a Photo Scavenger Hunt. Bring your thinking caps and try to creatively interpret the clues she will be providing.
Check the calendar for a map to the park.
IMAGE DISCUSSION with the THEME: Motion Blur
How will you interpret this month’s theme? Will it be sports? Maybe wild life? Or will it be an impressionistic still photo?
Remember to bring your images on a thumb drive for upload at the meeting.
