Speaker: Kathy Kinakin – History of the Photographic Medium
Less than 200 years ago, photographs were treasured keepsakes that could only be produced by skilled craftsmen and were made only for the few that were wealthy enough to afford them. Today It is estimated that there are 3.3 billion photos taken every day, across the globe. Want to know how we got from there to here? Then come hear local art historian Kathy Kinakin talk about the progression of the photographic process and the major proponents of the different methods as the medium of photography developed over the years.
